Risks, Limitations & Assumptions
- The integration can handle Critical/Recovery failure notifications for the following two cases when the user enables "integration Failure Notifications" in the configuration:
- Connectivity Exception
- Authentication Exception
- The integration will not send duplicate or repeat failure alert notifications until the existing critical alert is recovered.
- Metrics are used to monitor resources and generate alerts when threshold values are breached.
- The integration cannot control monitoring pause or resume actions based on the above alerts.
- This integration supports only Classic GW and does not support Cluster GW.
- Component-level thresholds can be configured at the resource level.
- If an Enterprise Manager is discovered from the Veeam Service Provider Console, configuration or installation with the Enterprise Manager IP cannot be added to the same client.
Troubleshooting
- Ensure all the prerequisites mentioned in Prerequisites are met.
- When Veeam integration fails to Discover/Monitor, perform the following troubleshooting steps:
- Verify if any alerts are generated on Veeam Enterprise Manager, Veeam ServiceProvider Console, or gateway and check for any error logs in vprobe.
- To rule out API accessibility or specific failures like end device connectivity or authentication, check the reachability of end device from gateway using the following commands.
- try ping with IP Address provided in configuration
ping <IP Address>
. - try telnet using
telnet <IP Address> <port>
- try ping with IP Address provided in configuration
- If still need assistance, reach out to Support Team to check API accessibility.
- If there is no connectivity or authentication issues, reach out to Support Team for further assistance.
