Kubernetes 2.0 Container Agent
The Kubernetes 2.0 Agent has been enhanced with advanced logging capabilities, an updated configuration page UI, trace proxy support, and expanded workload monitoring.
Support for Trace Proxy
The Kubernetes 2.0 Agent now supports tracing, allowing you to configure a Tracing Proxy seamlessly.
When tracing is enabled for a cluster, the Trace Proxy is automatically installed, ensuring smooth trace ingestion and management within the Kubernetes environment.
See Trace Proxy document for more information.
Configuration Page UI Enhancements
The configuration process has now been simplified by integrating key features into the Configuration Page UI. Previously, you had to configure logs, events, and metrics through a ConfigMap. Now, you can enable them directly from the UI.
See Installation document for more information.
Enhanced Logs Features
Syslog Support for Node Logs
By default, the OpsRamp Agent now collects node logs, including syslogs, from all Kubernetes nodes using the opsramp-logs-user-config ConfigMap. This ConfigMap is automatically created during the agent installation and includes default configurations for syslog collection.
Masking Support for Pod Log Configurations
To ensure privacy and compliance with data protection regulations, we have introduced log masking. This allows you to obscure sensitive or personally identifiable information in logs. You can define masking rules within the masking section of the log inputs to scrub sensitive data effectively.
See Logs document for more information.
Workload Monitoring
We have extended support to monitor the following additional applications, enabling you to gain deeper insights into their infrastructure.
- CockroachDB
- ArangoDB
- Consul
- Spark
- Kyverno
- Clickhouse
- Istio
- Jaeger
- Kiali
- Istio Gateway
- Calico
- Druid
- Mirror Maker 2
See Workload Monitoring document for more information.
